| WHAT
IS MEDIATION?
MEDIATION is an alternative to the
traumatic court battles, high legal fees, and extreme emotional
distress that accompany the process of divorce litigation.
MEDIATION establishes a combat-free
setting where, with the aid of a skilled neutral mediator, you and
your spouse explore options and make decisions about your marital
settlement. The mediator does not make the decisions; you do.
MEDIATION facilitates agreements
between separating or divorcing couples on support, child custody,
financial and property issues. With a mediated agreement, no court
appearance is required.
MEDIATION reduces the conflict and
anger that often accompany separation and divorce.
MEDIATION sets the stage for a future
relationship of cooperative parenting, clear communication, and
ability to resolve problems.
MEDIATION offers a process in which
previously divorced couples may change their agreement, settle disputes,
modify custody and modify support due to family transitions.
